How does an On-Grid Solar System reduce my electricity bill to zero?
During the day, your solar panels generate solar electricity. Your home first consumes this solar power. Any extra units you do not use are automatically exported to the grid through the bi-directional Net Meter. At night or on cloudy days, you draw power from the grid. At the end of the billing cycle, the DISCOM subtracts your exported units from imported units, leaving you with zero or near-zero electricity bills.
How much government subsidy will I get on an On-Grid system?
Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana: 1 kW gets ₹33,000 subsidy, 2 kW gets ₹66,000 subsidy, and 3 kW or larger residential systems get a flat maximum subsidy of ₹78,000 directly deposited into your bank account.
What happens during a power cut / grid outage?
